E195: An Irishman Having A Stroke

Hey, look at that, this episode is up on the right day! Fancy that.
There’s some actual automotive news this week, which is a nice change of pace, and is very welcome.
We kick off the news with the new Toyota GazooRacing 86, the naturally aspirated FA24 powered successor to the wonderful GT86.
We then talk about the new “400” Zed, with a 400hp twin-turbo V6, designed to tackle the MkV Supra with a proper 6-speed manual, and Barra-swapped Mustangs, then Matt makes one of his biggest takes by arguing that the General Motors LS-engine is the best engine of all time.
We then talk about the new Aventador-based 6.5L V12 with electric-assist 803hp Lamborghini Countach, which we all very much like.
We briefly then talk about Honda/Acura teasing a new Integra for 2022, but we don’t know anything about it yet, and then we talk about the Land Rover Defender getting a big whomping V8 which will be coming to Australia…. If you have f#ck you money at $210,000 AUD.
We then end on the Car World Cup, and in this week, we’re in France.

Gears and Beers is hosted by Mitchell Denham, Joseph Riga, and Matt Morwood.
